Activision Blizzard frees itself from Vivendi

I know, we don’t usually cover financial news here, but this is pretty big. Just a few days after news reports came out that Activision Blizzard was expected to be forced to perform a debt inducing dividend by 61% shareholder Vivendi Universal, the company has come to terms with Vivendi to buy itself almost completely from the French conglomerate. Vivendi, which is approximately $17.3 billion in debt, was hoping the dividend would help it pay down some debt in an effort to slim down the company. With even more money in hand than the dividend would have paid, Vivendi can no doubt clearly see it’s way to some much hoped for stability.

New Donation Drive launched

Good morning,

We are just over 4 months until Blizzcon, and as I have a few items left I was planning to do donation drives for, I thought now might be a good time to do so. Starting today, and running until the end of July (assuming it’s at least 50% to goal), a new donation drive is launching. The Magic Rooster mount, known as El Pollo Grande in lore, is available and with a minimum $5 donation, you get entered into the random drawing. I wish you all the best of luck, and one the mount is at it’s goal, or time runs out, I look forward to giving one of you a shiny… err feathery new mount.
